Caring Hands started in 2005 in Kampala, Uganda and is registered as a charitable non–governmental organization, with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty in families.
Caring Hands aims to empower people living in poverty with life skills to become self-reliant. Caring Hands operates on a rights-based approach, promoting the holistic well being of needy families with women and vulnerable children being the main beneficiaries. Caring Hands is involved in many charitable activities including education, business training, home visitations, food distribution, medical assistance, organizing sporting activities, peer support groups, life skills training, as well as improving living conditions. The organization creates products from recycled materials that are sold to support their charitable endeavours.
Caring Hands is registered in Canada and Finland.
